Re: Which Digital Photo Frame do people suggest ?
A couple were tested in this month's DP.
Biggest snag is if you have landscape and portrait formats that you want to include. I'm not sure if they rotate the images or not, and if they do, there are obviously issues with the display with the black lines on the sides. I've seen 6x4 for around £75, but not tempted myself yet. |

Re: Which Digital Photo Frame do people suggest ?
SVP have 2 or 3 model's around the £50 mark, I've no idea how good they are though
SVP Communications HOME I think Novatech have a couple at around the same price level aswell. |

Re: Which Digital Photo Frame do people suggest ?
I've seen a couple of positive review of the TELEFUNKEN Digiframe 8001 8" Digital Photo Frame at £120 . Lots of other cheaper frames are given poor ratings, so you definitely have to be careful on selection.
Best to go on something like Amazon & do a search for "digital frame" & then look at all the customer reviews of different items. The Philips screens come out well , but I was also quite intrigued by the "Linx 8" High Resolution Digital Photo Frame - With MP3/MP4 Feature,Battery Option,Remote Control " at £100 ...... a bit of music never goes a miss

Re: Which Digital Photo Frame do people suggest ?
I bought one for my dad for Christmas from Digital Photo Frames & Digital Picture Frames - Digital Frames Direct I did quite a bit of research and read the reviews on there and on Amazon etc. They seemed fairly good prices and had the functionality I wanted. (Some play just photos, some music, some videos...some take different cards, some take USBs etc) I bought a wooden framed one and when it arrived it seemed good quality, and the pictures all played well. The instructions are fairly minimal but its all fairly self explanatory anyway. My dad has been pleased with it. Yes, it does put black borders on the sides of the photo for a portrait (while the frame is in landscape mode) but to be honest most of his photos are landscape ones anyway so it didn't matter too much.
I also received a digital photo frame (this one I think: digi-vue Digital Photo Frame PHOTO8W From Laptops Direct) for a Christmas present myself. And I must say I love having it! I never got to appreciate half my photos before but now I have this turned on at my desk at work all day and it's great. Nearly everyone who walks into my office has commented about how good it looks. Again it plays video, photos and music and takes all sorts of photo cards - in fact more than it seems to suggest on that website as I've got an xd card plugged into mine. Both the one I got and my dads are 8 inch ones and I'd recommend not getting a smaller screen as thats a nice size. Hope that helps! |
