Direct camera to PC photos
Hi
Out of interest, I`m told I can shoot straight from my S2 pro to my Laptop via a USB type cable. Is this true? It`s mentioned in the manual, though I`m not sure what cable I require/where to get it from or what software is required as the manual fails to elaborate on the subject .... Cheers Andy |

Re: Direct camera to PC photos
Hi Andy - that is true. You should have been supplied the cable and necessary software with the camera. But......I'm not sure why you would want to as a USB2 card-reader or Firewire card is probably as fast as you can get.

Re: Direct camera to PC photos
Just interested.. The camera came with a download cable, though the shoot straight to PC lead is an aftermarket purchase.
On a similar note: The camera came with RAW convert light (part of the Fuji fine pix bundle) Are there good and Bad Raw converters.. or do they all do the same job?? Andy ![]() |

Re: Direct camera to PC photos
All RAW convertors do the job i.e. they convert RAW to either JPG or TIF. Trouble is they all have different interfaces, some are better at this and some at that. One thing you do need to consider is that they don't all do Fuji RAW - you sometimes need a special plugin.
You can pay a lot of money for convertors like Capture One and Bibble or you can use your cameras software which is obviously free. I use Rawshooter Premium. It was a reasonable price does everything well and has an excellent interface. But it's been bought out by Adobe. Adobe are bringing out their own convertor called Lightroom but knowing Adobe that will definately not be cheap. All I can suggest is download their trial software and see which you like before you pay out....and check it will process Fuji RAW files. HTH |

Re: Direct camera to PC photos
I think Andy means Tethered shooting where you can control the camera from the computer via a usb cable. Nikon Capture lets you do this with Nikon Dslr's but i'm not sure about other makes

Re: Direct camera to PC photos
Thanks, but not really, The cable I could guess at, it`s the software I can`t find, actually I can`t find any references to it anywhere .. I have no idea.

Re: Direct camera to PC photos
Capture One PRO will allow this and as far I can remember also supports fuji Files too. Please check for full compatibilty before you buy though
