Do you remember

2 questions, I was looking back at what drives me to take certain pictures. Why do I end up with an end without thinking you might say. 2/3 of my lenses are made to render this.
Q-1 is, do you remember what effect taking pictures captured your imagination, and you still find that you will go that direction when you think of what shall I do with my camera today?

Q-2 is, what kind of pictures do you wish you could spend time taking but can't seem to work out where the pictures are?

Q-1 for me is deep blurry backgrounds with a fade to soft detail.
Q-2 is I wish I could find it easier to take picture of older folks working, close-ups would do also.

Thanks for the time as always your friend

Re: Do you remember

I know what I want to take and mostly I am able to take them - it's just my current circumstances - family, work, moving house etc don't give me much time. I haven't touched my 7D since last August, just some shots of my grandson with a Finepix HS20

Re: Do you remember

Hi Boofers, Q1. I enjoy taking historical pictures, ie Medieval re-enactments and ancient buildings as they make me imagine what it was like to live in those times.
Q2. I used to take equestrian eventing pictures and wish I still could but having to use a mobility scooter curbs my acces to these events now.
Charles.

Re: Do you remember

I am dyslexic and.ADD so the feeling of getting everything in order and right is just as much
the enjoyment as the picture so sometimes have a lot of perfect rubbish shots. Soooo

Q1. What do I want to play with on the camera. 35mm I will do some close shots. 70 - 300 animals or action.
I don,t have a specific type I love them All. The end picture is a joy but for me the process of getting there is my enjoyment

Q2. Studio work. A friends daughter is at collage for clothing design and has asked me later in the year to
Do her portfolio. I am desperate to get my youngest daughter in a studio. It's my 50th this year so going to combine the lot. I know the studio owner and he stops with you and guides you through the equipment.

Re: Do you remember

I once looked at a National Geographic article for which a professional photographer had spent 12 months in the Grand Canyon taking photographs as he learned about the light, times of day and seasons. photographically, this sounded very attractive and I would even settle for the Lake district over here but reality is that I would never actually do this for many reasons.

I also would like to take some larger wildlife in Africa if only to prove that it is simple point and shoot but again this is not going to happen for similar reasons.

However, I am never short of subjects to photograph.

Re: Do you remember

what hit my imagination ...... first off i started off shooting historical ruins,,, my imagination was piqued by the history and stories behind these buildings..... i wanted to make the viewer see the same...... then i moved to studio and model work. my imagination knows no bounds and the only thing that hampers me IS My imagination...

what would i want to do more of.......... funnily enough im really into creatively directing a photoshoot as well as shooting them so thats what i would want to do more of,

Re: Do you remember

I would love to attend big events and have a prime position to take pictures but I know that is not going to happen, Two events I have in mind are new years eve fireworks in London and St. Patricks day parade in Dublin. I recorded these two events on my TV with a view to photographing them on the TV screen, so far I have not got round to it yet so don't know what the quality would be like.
What is the view of submitting pictures taken like this is it my work or copying other work? It would not be for anything other than my own amusement, but say for posting here?

Re: Do you remember

I would say that an image taken from the photo is technically a copy of someone else's film/image and that you would be breaching copyright by posting them to the internet. I am not sure what the position would be for the site you are on accepting them either, so I would say best not to for all concerned.

I can't quite understand why it would be something you would want to do? I can understand your recording a programme to watch in the future, but why would you photograph the screen when it's already there recorded & filmed by someone else. Best go to the events & take your own.

I was very fond of your ruins, but I must say I have enjoyed the people scenes so good for you. . If I can get my projects finished I feel 2014 will be a good year, and just to prove I am not a whynee baby I will see about finding an old timer working..

Re: Do you remember

A1: Landscapes. It all got started with landscapes as I was already doing the walking/hiking/trekking, so had the opportunity

A2: Landscapes. I rarely do them these days as I seem to be always shooting something else! Not helped that it's relatively flat around here, so don't have the 'ready-made' scenery - and I'd have to think a little bit more to come up with good locations. Having said that, there's some excellent industrial plants around and I do love industrial landscapes so I'll have to come up with a gameplan........

Re: Do you remember

Q-1 is, do you remember what effect taking pictures captured your imagination, and you still find that you will go that direction when you think of what shall I do with my camera today?

A- I aim to get very personal shots, very unique shots, shots that wont be there tomorrow and were not there yesterday, shots that inspire memories, shots that are just shots, and not snaps.

I have an endless stream on my own kids in exciting places where we went on holiday...
Not ONE was "Posed", not one did I ask them to "Smile for the camera"...
I have inane grins as they wobble away from the Roller-coaster, I have smiles created by "The best day ever" (So far) but I have never "arranged" my family to stand "Just so" for a camera.....

Otherwise, I have shots of the First A380 to land at Manchester airport, shots of Rally cars in mid air, Wildlife, many different things that bring back memories....

Q-2 is, what kind of pictures do you wish you could spend time taking but can't seem to work out where the pictures are?

A-Better shots of Wildlife.
This is a work-in-progress.

Re: Do you remember

I was reading over the dreams and visions splashed out on the paper for us to ponder and reflect. And sat back thinking of what Silver Dragon leaves at the signature. Safe, reaching, finding and loving life.

Cheers
