Re: EV= -1/3
It's Exposure Compensation, Ray - something I use all the time (and your example is for a 1/3rd stop less exposure - prevents burned highlights)

Re: EV= -1/3
I asked markulous because i found this on the net do the settings seem ok to you thanks....Ray
As a result of my first two weeks with the G9, I'm going to try using > the following settings for most shots w/ the G9: > My Colors: Contrast, Sharpness, Saturation are all set to -1 > EV= -1/3 > ISO = Auto (unless specifically shooting in low light, then use 400) > Shooting mode dial set to P > Safety FE = on > Safety Shift = off > AWB > Flash output = standard > ND filter = off > JPG format = Large/Superfine > Red-Eye = On > AF-assist = On > IS Mode = Shoot only |

Re: EV= -1/3
Ahh, yup, I rarely use no Exp Comp and -1/3 is definitely my commonest setting (tho' -1.0 is not far behind - especially in sunnier conditions). But then I thoroughly dislike burned highlights and will always attempt to prevent (even if some areas of the image are slightly dark)
