Can anyone help me understand why I loose the EXIF data for the photos I resize for posting on Pixalo ?
I follow the recommended steps of: Resize image Click on Save for WEB Adjust Quality slider to get the right file size and Save. Thanks - Paul |

Re: EXIF data gone
Yeah, Paul, you're losing the info at the Save for Web stage which deliberately strips all extra info not needed to make as efficient filesize as possible.
BTW, if at the Save for Web stage you click on the arrowhead you can enter the actual filesize (i.e. 200k) - saves the adjusting the slider to arrive at the right filesize! ![]() |

Re: EXIF data gone
I had the same question. And I'm not sure I understand the answer. I downloaded the action but how do you apply it to the photo I am resizing in photo shop?

Re: EXIF data gone
Actions are held in:
\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS\Presets\Photoshop Actions or similar Place downloaded file (Web.atn) into this folder Open in Actions list (if you need anything on getting Actions to run, let me know and I'll try and produce a guide) Save For Web optimises the image by removing any information that is not strictly required to display that image - so that resulting file is made as small as possible for web display. This includes EXIF data. |

Re: EXIF data gone
As I am just a newbie I only have PS elements. I don't see the photoshop actions folder in presets. Are these types of actions even possible in Elements?
