I have just found out that one of my eight entries into the Aqueduct08 International Exhibition in Catalunya got accepted.

AFOCER is a founder member of the FCF, Federació Catalana de Fotografia. Through this Federation, it is linked to the CEF, Confederación Española de Fotografía, and the FIAP, Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique. It is also member of the PSA, Photographic Society of America, and ISF, Image sans Frontière.

Chuffed to hell about this!!

Re: The That was a chunk of the rare English text I grabbed off the website. It's essentially saying that the exhibition was affiliated to the FIAP, PSA, CFE and ISF all of which are photographic federations, the two biggest being the PSA (Photographic Society of America) and FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique).

You may see people with letters after their names like EFIAP, MFIAP this signifies that they have been awarded merits by the respective society, much like the RPS in the UK (LRPS, ARPS etc)

Well, i'm not convinced of that I consider myself extremely lucky to have a shot accepted in an international exhibition.

The post processing used on the shot was theOrton effect which essentially is an out of focus layer merged with an in focus one. Strangely this was the first shot that I used this on and though it has had some tweaking to bring the whites down a touch the shot is pretty much as it was the first time I processed it.

Looking at the shots that got awards I was suprised at the level of processing used on some of them and they were more like digital art than photography, that doesn't make me feel entirely comfortable for the future to be honest.
