Re: Fujifilm camera settings s9600

Don't know about the settings for your camera, but if you take your pictures in black and white you will be throwing a lot of information away as the camera will only record in 256 shades instead of millions of colours. Always best to convert in software.

I don't think the 9600 had a mono mode, but I may be wrong. As to settings, on the back you'll see a button marked Menu...press that and you can change anything you like

You can get free pic editing software that give you more controle than setting it to B&W on the camera.

Re: Fujifilm camera settings s9600

Thank you all, the reason i asked is my family wanted to do a little competition and to take a black and white picture and not use the computer to do it,still its a good way of learning what to do or not what to do.

Re: Fujifilm camera settings s9600

Turn finepix S9600 on - press 'f' on the back (to right of viewscreen) - chose 3rd option - it will offer 'STD', 'C' and 'B' - chose 'B'. Your camera is now set to take b&w pics.

PLEASE NOTE: the camera will only capture b&w images if your camera is set up to capture jpegs. If you have your camera set to take RAW then, although the screen will show a b&w image, it will capture colour images.

Hope it woks out for you. John
