Re: GIMP Photo editing

The gimp is supposed to be a very powerful editing program. I have never used it myself but believe it to be quite tricky to get to grips with but if you have the apptitude or patience, it can do all the basic stuff and the majority of the more advanced features that the pay for alternatives offer.

As I was writing that I was thinking that my preffered software (Adobe Photoshop) isn't exactly simple or easy to get to grips with either, so maybe if you are not familiar with either, are on a restricted budget, like a challenge or just want to see what alternatives there are then it maybe worth taking a look?

The big advantage the Gimp has over its rivals off course is the cost

Re: GIMP Photo editing

I have not used GIMP myself, but I play an online game where you can edit your player images. Many of the other members use GIMP to edit their images (small scale web stuff under 10k) and swear by the program.

I would advise against putting GIMP into google though

Re: GIMP Photo editing

I use The GIMP as my main image editor - it does everything I need - levels, curves, resizing, saturation, perspective, cloning, white balance etc, plus loads of other stuff I haven't fully explored yet.
