Just thinking about attempting a HDR image sometime soon as the ones i've seen in the magazines are stunning.

Anyone care to venture some suggestions/tips as to how best to go about it ?

using Photomatix pro and here in Pixalo in the tutorial area theres some good tutorials for that.

Don't overdo it....subtle is better and watch for the halos

If you have the time and inclination, take 7 shots between -3 and +3 exposure. More 'raw' data to map should give nicer output.

Failing that, I often just go 2 stops either way and generally base the mid exposure from the brighter parts of the scene.

Oh and don't forget the tripod!

And don't do what I did the first time and change the aperture lol. Make sure you change the shutter speed only so that you don't have multiple exposures all with differing depths of field (it gave a nice soft effect but it wasn't really HDR'ish)
