Talking HDR Photography

Hi, just came across an article on t'internet about 'HDR Photography' where you combine a series of underexposed, correctly exposed and overexposed photos of the same shot using a combination of tools in Photoshop or a similar program to try and produce a picture closer to what our eyes would see

...so if you took a picture through a dark archway at a very bright subject then your eyes would adjust so that the archway and the subject were well...erm...'exposed' correctly...i dunno......i got a bit confused,

Has anyone heard of this or tried it themselves or could perhaps give us a quick tutorial?

here is a link to a 'hdr photo' CLICK ME

Re: HDR Photography

did someone not do a PDF on how to do it? I thought it was you... had a blue car in it...

it was posted just before the fracturous times and "the other plaice".

EDIT: Nope it was Pete Carr. "Pete Carr's HDR Guide with OMG Corsa!!" filename was hdrguidewithomgcorsa.pdf

can't find it here although I've got a copy of it. Don't think I should distro it as it's not my work tho

EDIT 2: lol - Hacker found it

Re: HDR Photography

I've recently been using Photomatix which i find quite flexible. The only thing i don't like is the automatic alignment. It never seems to get it quite right. But then i suppose if i used a tripod more often...........

It was the one in the link that was above, Pete moved it with in his own site and chose not to allow the links to be updated.

With that in mind I have removed the above link and provided an alternative below.

HDR Guide

Or if you want to see the one already mentioned, a quick Google will turn up the required results.
