Re: help me with my canon g9

It helps if you think of raw as a digital negative and jpg tiff etc as the digital print. Raw is closest to what the sensor actually records but just like a conventional negative needs some work to produce a usable image. Your G9 can do a pretty good job of producing the print but if you are willing to take the time you can adjust a lot of things to (usually) improve on the situation. The problem is that you will need computer software to convert the raw file or to edit the finished product. I don't know what you get with the G9. A cheapish program is Bibble that works pretty well but the sky is the limit when it comes to how uch you want to spend.

Re: help me with my canon g9

If Canon DPP is included in the software supplied with the G9 then that will process RAW files without any issues. It's actually quite a good application and is very capable for that task. Before paying for anything else I would certainly load it up and give it a try
