Help w/ Canon pro-1, infrared

Hi,

I have a Canon pro-1 converted to infrared. I am having problems getting the proper coloring in P.Shop.
Channel swapping is not turning out the way it should as with my other cameras?

I was told a while ago that a dng file needed to be set up but I have since forgotten how. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
Bill

A dng file is a file type originated by Adobe with the idea that a RAW file can be read by any software. If memory serves me well you require an add-on from Adobe for your Photoshop CS. HTH. Have a read about it here

Thanks for the reply.

Which add on is it?
When we originally did this, we just somehow configured the dng file and saved it to cs4 and when I opened a raw I.R file it was done?

THANKS

Re: Help w/ Canon pro-1, infrared

Do you mean DNG file or do you mean ATN (PS Action file which performs a set recorded sequence of actions on an image)? And do you mean Channel Mixing rather than swapping?

I use my Sigma SD10 + R72 filter to take IR shots and just use the Black and White filter for a quick conversion. Just to complicate things I also take images without the R72 filter (making the shots a mix of IR and visible as the Sigma is IR sensitive with the simple removal of the dustfilter) in which case I use the Channel Mixer (as I keep the blue channel which records the highest visible portion of the light)

Re: Help w/ Canon pro-1, infrared

You have other camera's ? What kind of convertion did you get,,? Photoshop is not the only photo editing program to do good IR. I am kinda happy with lightzone for IR,,,and CS3. Also I haven,t been able to even use the DNG converter, it just dosen't work,,so no go. Hope you get it fixed up and post some pictures, I always convert from a Tiff in the Raw editor when I have to.
