Dave I was just reading your blog and saw your 5D video sample which reminded me of something I saw the other day.

here it is:
Canon Digital Learning Center - Sample Video: EOS 5D Mark II

Personally I dont believe video capture belongs in pro SLR's, but even I was blown away by this...

Rather impressive isn't it Leezon ? Although some good camera work , visualisation & a bit of Moby, helps a tad

Re: Here is one for the Canon guys and girls

Certainly stunning quality video and totally unexpected for a video-in-still-camera movie. Having said that, it was also made with the benefit of NINE L series lenses plus a few others which sort of adds to the budget somewhat

I can get excellent quality already as I have a Canon XM2 which has an L series lens on it and 20x zoom but it isn't HD so it can't match the resolution of the 5D on that front. But having said that, I wouldn't use the 5D to capture a whole film/wedding/whatever, but it would be superb for a few shorts to complement a digital slide show and done well, would prove a big seller for couples getting married without a doubt.

Imagine being able to sit family and friends down to watch a slide show containing 50 quality wedding pictures in batches of ten interspersed with 4x90-second video slots all accompanied by suitable music. Allowing 15 seconds for each photo plus a nice little top and tail and you'll have a superb 20 minute video that will be passed around to family and friends with great joy

Just a thought.... and yes, I am still very much considering the 5D Mk II as my next purchase.... when I have the money.... which i don't right now Hey, a man has to have a dream!

Cheers,
Rob
