i have recently purchased a nikon d80 and yesterday while shooting in night in available light. i found a bright pixel of centred from screen, i tried to change another lens . but the result was same . although the bright dot is very small size . i has a cross shape and appears to be a group of 5 pixels in cross shape.

Re: hi i am facing a problem . and i need help,

I think these are called Stuck or Hot pixels.
I would suggest you take the camera back with some examples of the problem and get it sorted by who ever sold you the camera.

Hi, It sounds like you may have a lump of muck/dust/foreign matter on your sensor. If so, be careful how you clean it, and make sure you clean it off in accordance with the maker's instructions.
Good luck,

Gavin

Doesn't muck show as a dark spot on shots though ?

Yeah sounds like hot pixels, seems to be a common problem with D80s atm....

Re: hi i am facing a problem . and i need help - Nikon D80

I had some hot pixels on one of the 3 D80 bodies I've had. (The first was exchanged because I was changing from the lens kit set to the body only, and they wanted to change me to a body only camera for warranty reasons. The second had hot pixels and the third is working wonderfully)

Here's a thread I had on that, with photos and some good advice.

The bad news is that just one hot pixel isn't uncommon, with any digital camera, and if you're good at spotting them, you may just spot one or two on your new camera as well. (After taking 5 shots in the store to try to find some, I haven't gone looking for them in the new body.)
