Hi! What'd be your best technique to simulate a rolling teardrop?

Hi guys,

I want to take a photo session tomorrow, and I was thinking about simulating a tear rolling down the cheek of the model. I really don't want to resort to doing it digitally. What'd be your technique to do this? Would you recommend using glycerine?

Glycerine used to be the standard medium for an odd tear or two. Why not try some other household substances like oil, liquid soap, shampoo etc. That is assuming they are all colourless.

Also bear in mind that it will mess up the model's make up.

Glycerine would work best, you can also mix it with water to make it runnier if needed. You just need a dropper to put a few drops next to the corner of the models eye, just take care not to get it in the eye

set the camera up, get the focus and lighting spot on, then sneak up and poke her in the eye, works every time honest
