This is a link to High Pass Sharpening. It is really easy to do, but it does involve layers.

Here's also a link to a guide written by Hacker on Pixalo: http://www.pixalo.com/community/tuto...ake-16227.html
Highpass can give great results, but does need more work than USM. Very often worth it in my experience.

Re: Highpass Sharpened

This is a very good method of sharpening Ray as it works very well on things like blue skies without causing strong posterisation (blocky pixels of blue that become very obvious with over-use of USM.

I use the High Pass filter method virtually all the time these days, just adding some USM if I need to at a low level.

Have fuin and if you get stuck, let us know and we'll sort you out

Cheers,
Rob
