How did this happen?

Im confused.
A picture I took with my D70 appears to have a reflection of the red band on the front of the camera grip in some water that is quite a distance away! How did this happen, or is it something else?

If you look higher up in the original image there's quite a lot of flare visible.

Yes as the others have said, it's definately due to sunflare in your lens and not a reflection of the red on your camera strap.
