How do you pronounce *ist?

I've been wondering for some time - ever since I first laid eyes on Pentax DSLRs, in fact.

well Eos is one word, so i suppose Ist is one too, albeit a silly one...

Pentax' original meaning was that you prefix ist with anything of your choice - hence the *. So you could call it Steepist, Fingerzist etc. I think they pinched it from Titelist golf balls.
