How long do you go between taking photo's ?
Dawned on me, that with working full time, helping run this site & having a 4yr old, I go for on average a month between taking photos
Since having the D200 I've only taken about 20 shots Must make time to get out more with the old camera. So how long do others go between shoots ? |

Re: How long do you go between taking photo's ?
For me it so depends on what I'm doing (including whether commissioned!), how busy, where I am and, most importantly, what the weather is like. I see that next week there's a chance of snow, so I'll be getting the winter gear out!
So, in answer, I'd say anywhere from 1 day to 1 month tho' go out a lot in the summer evenings (3 or 4 times, maybe). Used to do a lot of sunrises but they've tailed off of late |

Re: How long do you go between taking photo's ?
I was wondering myself about this and was going to write a post, Dave you bet me to it.
I haven't taken a real shot for almost 2 months, sure I've taken a few happy snaps of the kids here and there but with the old point and shoot not my 30D. I was starting to feel a little depressed because I hadn't. But with two kids aged 3 and 8, doing the mum things at school, after school activities, sports, cooking, cleaning, spending time with the kids doing home work, reading, playing games chasing after my 3 year old and trying to spend time with the hubby after he gets home from work all adds up to me not having any spare time. But at this stage what can I do. I wouldn't change anything, although having a 30 hour day might help . On second thoughts perhaps not.Cheers Bella |

Re: How long do you go between taking photo's ?
If its nort wok, every day, I can sometimes have a block where I will go a couple of weeks but that is when im really sad and feeling sorry for myself.
Im only human and sometimes life gets on top of you and you have no creativity.(probably splet wrong) But I was watching a tv show tonight about the herald of free enterprise mess and having had a near death experience myself I can soooo understand where people come from. As I slid at 80 mph down the M6 thinking that post is gonna take my head clean off and then surviving you have a whole new respect for life. My Mrs hates it, im just so cool and laid back about everything it is frightening. So who's up for a beer then and sod work, bank manager, bills and everything else, your only hear once, so make ya mark!!!!!!!!! |

Re: How long do you go between taking photo's ?
Every weekend. My twin sons Marko and Aleksandar play local senior football. Marko runs the club website and I provide a selction of photos from each match - that's why I'm itching for an extra 100mm.
About once a fortnight I'll go off on my own and do a particular place, event etc but I always have a camera with me just for any opportunist shots. |

Re: How long do you go between taking photo's ?
I've not been out with a camera for around two months. Lifestyle issues mainly. Work, (I'm on shifts and work weekends too) family commitments and a host of other bits and pieces. I find it quite frustrating, and it is the reason I've not entered either the monthly comp or the fortnightly assignment this time round.

Re: How long do you go between taking photo's ?
Let me see, I go to bed at 11pm and I get up at 6am.... guess that makes it about 7 hours :o)
I basically take my camera anywhere unless it is to work.... and then I still take it sometimes if I think I'll get some decent shots of the sea, river, wildlife whatever. Also if that darned kingfisher is about I am so frustrated when I haven't got my camera with me. Still haven't been able to catch him with camera in hand... the little rotter! I shoot loads but delete loads too. I guess the longest I have gone without my camera in my hand is about a week or so but either because I have been snowed under with work or I have been ill! What can I say? I am hopelessly addicted! Cheers, Rob

Re: How long do you go between taking photo's ?
It's been a while for me actually, at least a month. I tend to go through allmost obsessive moods where I'll concentrate solely on that one thing and forget about most others, for the last year and a half that has been photography, but recently computer problems, family issues and not to mention the cold weather has seriously put a dampener on my camera activities.
The good thing is that it only takes one good photo oppertunity to get me excited about things again, and one of those is just about to roll round. Next weekend the girlfriend and I are taking a drive up to Donna Nook (near here : Google Maps ) for the annual Grey Seal birthing to take shot's of all the newborn pups which I'm really looking forward to as we both had a great time last year... should be just the ticket to get the Photographic juices going again
