How many people leave their screen protectors on ?

Having just unpacked my nice new camera I suddenly noticed the screen protector in place. Just wondered how many people actually leave theirs in place ? Must admit I took mine straight off the D70 & never experienced any scratches over the last 2 years

The D70 one looks tacky being clear plastic but it's still on my D70 albeit painted black

I did get a couple of small scratches on my 10d so I have a protector on my 5d now, I bought some from a company in the us called Boxwave who make really clear ones for a number of devices, I'd always used them on my PDA and just bought some for the camera one day when I was ordering.

No screen protector here, canon don't supply them as standard on my camera and in the last 5 years I have not yet managed to scratch it at all. I would howvere probably leave it on if it had come supplied with one (depending on how it looked

)

I have left the screen protectors on both my camera and mobile phone,just as an added precaution against scratches,I also found earlier this year in my local jessops a packet of repacement protectors that you can cut to size and apply to your LCD screen if the one suppiled gets damaged. I cannot be certian but I belive that it cost about £6.00 for 3 sheets but far cheaper {IMO} than trying to get the LCD screen replaced.

I use my one, although I've often thought of using one of my thin-film screen protectors for my pocket PC, cut down from full size. I guess that I'd get about 3 out of one pocket PC film.

Well I take the view they spend all this money making a camera look asthetically pleasing to the eye, only to wack a piece of cheap plastic over the top. Used to think the same of people years ago, who used to order a specific interior for their new car & then stick ghastly seat covers over them

Sorry, it's coming off ......got to have it looking its best

I left the provided plastic ones on my D100 D2H & D2Hs all the time.......not got anything on a 1D MKII and I might have got a very small scatch on it

Just reading through the manual last night & it states the protector is to be used when camera is stored only ...hmmm...so they don't expect you to use it out in the field

I can see in the future {with the escalating prices of new models of cameras}the next information manuals will state "Please insure this camera is stored in its box at all times"

Mine never come off the D200 or D70, I'd rather replace the plastic protector than the screen.
