How often...

Do you clean your gear?

I must admit I've let things slip and i need to spring clean my gear, lenses, sensor, filters then charge batteries and repatriate everything back into its rightful home. I have gear everywhere

Re: How often...

I try not to get mine dirty

Never cleaned my sensor. Yet. Although I do need to (just too chicken)

I do keep my kit neat + organised, but have to admit it does get a bit split up, depending on what I take out on a particular trip ... My tripod lives in the boot of my car; I have a separate little bag with my Cokin filters in (which I take along quite often but never use ); I have two backpacks that I keep my kit in - one for taking lots of gear and another for taking a little, so kit does tend to get split up that way, although I do usually put things back in their respective living quarters after a trip out And I usually charge my battery as soon as I get back from an excursion, ready for the next one.

Can't find my WB caps though, which I bought off Ebay but never used ('cos I can't find them).

Re: How often...

Well I've just recharged four 20D batteries today and am finishing off my third 1D batt.

Sensors haven't been properly cleaned for a couple of weeks so they must be due a wash.

Re: How often...

I wash everything down every couple of weeks, usually when the weather is good so that I can put everything outside in the sun to dry

I just put mine in the washing machine, then tumble dry afterwards but I suppose that's not so good for the environment.

Surely everyone knows the dry cleaner is the only place to send equipment? To prevent shrinkage!

Re: How often...

I guess, I only clean the sensor but when it needs it which is around 3 times a year. What else needs cleaning?

Re: How often...

I'd usually run a lens pen over the lenses to clear away any dust that may be there just before I go out for a shoot, only takes a minute or two... but that's about it really as I'm normally pretty careful to prevent dirt getting on my gear in the first place.
