I'm Stunned!

I did another photo-shoot in the tree cave this morning and froze my arse off. I cranked out more awesome pics!!!!!! You'll have to wait until I can catch up on the photo-editing. Hehehehe.....

Yeah, I still have imperfections in my shots, but I'm picking up more clear images and even more fungi specimens in the blurry areas. My eyeballs fell out when I found unusual fungi in that tree cave.....

Yeah, I ditched the small tripod, as it frustrated me too much. I did my best to keep the camera still, which was difficult while being in awkward positons in reaching out, especially while doing blind spots.

I have quite a few photos where parts of the image seem to be in "movement" due to shifting while holding the camera and parts where it's crystal clear. I thought that was quite unusual, as I thought that if there was a movement, shift, or shake would affect the entire image.... What do you make of this?

Yeah, I could have used some sort of bean bag or something for a "tripod," but I had so many diffferent places and heights for the camera to take pics of....

I tried out more settings..... Wow!

Another question I have is an idea I had. Since I have issues with camera shake, movement, or shifting due to my vestibular/balance disorder, I had wanted to try the Sports setting. It works pretty well, but there are instances when I want to use the flash with this setting.

Since the Sports setting is in the basic settings, I can not do as much in customizing. This setting does not let me use the flash. So, I tried getting the flash popped out in another setting, set it in the Sports setting, and then take the pics. Well, the flash didn't go off......

Is there a way I can override the default no-flash setting for the Sports setting? I really want to experiment with this setting with flash....

Thanks in advance!

Re: I'm Stunned!

In sport mode your camera is simply using a higher shutter speed. The flash is likely disabled as most sport is carried out in good light.

Can you over-ride it? Of course you can. Just use shutter priority mode (Tv on a Canon). Keep it under the maximum flash sync speed though. This will be around 1/200 of a second. If this gives you under exposed images use a slower speed.
