Lightroom freezes
Got a problem that's really bugging me. I downloaded the Lightroom 30 day trial version from Adobe's Website yesterday. I believe the trial version is now 1.0. In any case, once I got it installed, and opened, it froze after about 30 sec to 1 min. I tried to restart the program and it did it again. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled. Same problem. I'm at work so I can't do anything right now, but any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm running Windows XP w/an AMD processor & 2.0 Gig of Ram.

Re: Lightroom freezes
Your RAM is well over the recommended amount, but I can't remember what processor is recommended. The adobe LR homepage sets out the minimum system requrements. I know Charlotte was saying her system was very slow (with 512mb RAM) running LR.
Are you running anything else at the same time? |

Re: Lightroom freezes
Here at home I have Windows Xp, Athlon 64 3500+ , 2Ggb Dual Ram, 256Mgb Dual Ram card and it runs as sweet as a nut. Have you any more info?

Re: Lightroom freezes
I've heard that will happen when you have a lot of programs running at the same time, check your task manager

Re: Lightroom freezes
I'm planning on digging into it further, but I think that all of you may have the solution. I'm almost sure that many too many processes are probably running in the background. I don't remember at this time what my processor is, but that also may be a problem. Thanks for the hints. When I know more I'll respond. Thanks.

Re: Lightroom freezes
Ok, I think I've got it now. I went to Start > Run > typed in msconfig and unchecked all the startup programs. Then restarted and opened Lightroom. It runs fine. All I had to do then is get my anti virus and firewall back up. I haven't noticed any ill effects, so I think I'll just leave everything turned off. Rep points to you all, thanks. Emmettleffel I will give the Endiall2 a try.
