Live View ?
I Saw A Press Photographer, On The News Tonight, With What Seemed To
Be A Live View Monitor On A Bracket Above His Camera, It Was About The Size Of A Compact Camera With About Three Inch Screen, He Was Holding The Camera Above His Head, So Framing The Shot Through The Monitor. Has Anyone Got Any Idea What This Was? |

Re: Live View ?
THAT LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE THE ONE, ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS IT WAS ATTACHED
TO A FLASH BRACKET, WITH THE CAMERA IN VERTICAL POSITION . VERY CLEVER BIT OF KIT THOUGH. |

Re: Live View ?
ISTR a comment that it was not very bright - but that might've just referred to the early model (it's in at least it's 2nd release). Personally, I use an angle finder for over the head shots - but then I don't need to take them that often

Re: Live View ?
Woody, the 2nd version of the Zigview would suit you down to the ground with your disability. It would enable you to hold the camera at virtually any angle and still see the shot you are getting.
A friend of mine uses one because he is unable to see through the viewfinder very well and he absolutely swears by it. Cheers, Rob |

Re: Live View ?
THANKS ROB, AFTER SEEING ONE FOR THE FIRST TIME, LAST NIGHT
I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AN IDEAL SOLUTION. IN YOUR OPINION ARE THEY WORTH THE MONEY THE CHEAPEST I HAVE SEEN THEM SO FAR IS £229-00. DO OTHER COMPANIES MANUFACTURE THEM, DO YOU KNOW OR IS IT JUST ZIGVIEW? I KNOW WHEN THINKING ABOUT PRICE DEPENDS ON WHETHER YOU WILL USE IT OFTEN ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY THE COST, IN MY CASE THE ANSWER WOULD BE YES. HAVING ONLY SEEN A PICTURE OF THEM, I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE BUILD QUALITY IS LIKE. HAS YOUR FRIEND ENCOUNTERED ANY PROBLEMS WITH HIS? ANY INFO ON THIS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. THANKS AGAIN |

Re: Live View ?
Zigview has a special here, dont know if its valid in U.K if you buy Zigview S2 (Not sure about the date) before the middle of next month you also get a free 57" Remote Shutter Release Cable so you not only be able to view it on the 2.5" LCD that rotated 300 degrees but you will also be able to control the shutter, the cable alone costs 100.00 us dlls.
take a look here woody. CALUMET |

Re: Live View ?
THANKS SOTELO, I HAVE JUST READ THE REVIEW IN CALUMET ABOUT THE
ZIGVIEW. I AM A BIT CONCERNED ABOUT HOW FLIMSY IT IS, THEY SAY THE BUILD IS NOT THAT GOOD. I THINK I WILL HAVE TO GIVE THIS A LOT MORE THOUGHT. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE INFO. |

Re: Live View ?
I didn't find the Zigview to be flimsy when I tried it Woody. I didn't use it extensively I know but it felt solid enough to me.
Not a lot cheaper but this is one of a couple I have found on Ebay (Buy it now and UK seller, not HK) Zigview S2 Type B For Canon 20D 30D 1D Nikon D2X D200 on eBay, also, For Digital SLR, Camera Lenses, Photography (end time 07... they are doing it for £205 plus £5.75 postage so a total of £210.75 I should mention that the S2 is a considerably better bit of kit than the original Zigview which was much more basic. Only furnishing you with what I know so you can make up your own mind. I think you'd find it useful but it is also not cheap so only you can really say whether you think it is worth it to you. Good luck with your decision making ![]() Cheers, Rob

Re: Live View ?
Woody, I have an S2 and I don't like it. It's yours for the cost of the postage if you want it.
