I'm thinking of having a photography day out in the Peak District and I'm looking for location ideas. Initial thoughts are the Ladybower / Derwent reservoirs, but high vantage points, waterfalls would also be nice.

I know theres a few people on here that live nearby, so thinking caps on guys

Re: Location, location, location

Ladybower and the Derwent Valley have loads of photo opportunities especially if you like dams and reservoirs, but avoid at weekends and bank holidays because most of the road alongside the reservoir is only open weekdays.

Re: Location, location, location

Just come back from a w/e there - but we stayed local and went down to Bradford Dale

Sunrise - Curbar Edge
Waterfall - Black Clough
Sunset - The Roaches
OK, so they're the popular haunts but they'll give you a fair return (if weather behaves!)

Re: Location, location, location

There's a really nice waterfall and some great mill ruins near Tansley close to Matlock, we were there a few weeks ago and it was really picturesque. I must get round to posting some pictures.

If you're interested I'll check the route we walked and let you know exactly where we were.

cheers

Dan
