I visited Happisburgh (in the snow!) not too far away, to the south, which is distinguished by it's much photographed lighthouse. And I'm not going to tell you how the name's pronounced (as I've forgotten!) but it's not as it seems!

And there's Blakeney to the north with it's nature reserves and marshes (but never been!)

Sheringham Park is quite near and that is lovely, probably at it's best around May though as it is full of different types of rhodedendrun bushes. Just up the coast past Sheringham is the village of Cley and that has a windmill that is popular with photographers, there is also boat trips out to see the seals from there and also lots of seabirds and Blakeney Point and salt marshes, nice perhaps with the sunrise behind them.
