Lost
When I was in the UK I didn’t watch much TV, apart from the F1 the only other thing I really followed was “Lost”. When I came away I made an effort to get hold or the remaining episodes from series one and have just finished watching them. I really enjoyed this series and love the way it is character based while building on the missing pieces as it develops.
The programme for those that are unsure or completely missed it is about a group of survivors with no apparent connection to each other that are stranded on an island after a plane crash. The first episode showed the plane crash and the fallout from immediately after that event, none of the main characters know each other and believe that they are only linked by being on the same plane at a bad time. Each week the story develops and we are given more info on each of the main characters in the form of “flashbacks” to their normal life. It’s a very good way of keeping everything interesting and the stories moving along a good pace. I think the UK was showing episode 13 on my big move, so without giving away any spoilers, do any of you watch it (I know Marcel has watched all of series one and possible more), are you enjoying it still and what do you think of the idea and how it is being developed?

I only caught one episode that was misway through the series but was hooked by it straight away. I've not watched any more because I'm gonna wait for it to be reshown in the correct order.
But it was good what I saw. |

I don't personally watch it, I don't seem to watch much TV these days apart from anything motorsport related and the odd babe-fest that is Hollyoaks on a Sunday morning lol

I caught one episode of this and couldn't make moss or sand of it, but I was a little intrigued by the very different approach.
In a similar vein 'Rome' on BBC 2 last night is a superb new series - very gritty and real and presented as only the Beeb seem to be able to do these period dramas. There's lots of sex and nudity too, so don't watch it of you're easily offended. ![]() |

Same as CT i only caught one episode, but i did enjoy it.
Problem is the time to watch it. Also, i get so confused that there are so many repeats of the same series each week, with catch up on the last one, watch the next one, or see two back if you missed that one, i never seem to know where i am with them. Mike ![]() |

Ohhhh yes, best new TV programme I've seen in quite a while
A mate of mine brought back the entire season one dvd boxset from a recent Canada trip, and I've been downloading the season two episides as they're being shown in the US (up to episode five now I think)... it just keeps getting better |

Not long ago I decided only to watch TV if something worth watching is on, at the moment I'm down to about 4 or 5 hours a week.
Lost - brilliant series but I thing I missed the one about the fat guy ![]() House - doctor drama with Hugh Laurie finishes tonight CSI miami + new york and if I catch it QI - sometimes crap sometimes lives up to its name of quite interesting. Its wierd I've got loads of free time now to go to the gym and stuff nowadays ![]() |

It's not another Twin Peaks is it that leaves you more confused than before you started?!?

I"m not much of a TV fan myself to be honest. I've come to realize that if I sit, I must eat. So I don't sit! Make sense? Anyways I've heard alot about this show, and I've only seen a few minutes of the show to be honest. I just don't get the buzz all around it though. Didn't do much for me really I must say.
There are just a select few that I watch. Nothing that requires my time over and over week after week. That drives me crazy. ![]() |

As I said its very character driven and the stories are very well written to allow you to find out things about the characters from the past while watching them develop. There are all sorts of little touches that show how the characters pasts have crossed paths, or are linked with each other and different things that are currently occurring, this goes along way to explaining their behaviour in certain situations while on the island.
If you have missed certain episodes you will miss some of these little connections, the episode about Hurley that Marcel has mentioned above, fills in lots of details about a character that up until then seemed to be taking a side line, but once those details became known you then realise how big a part he has played through all the previous episodes. Just watching one episode from the middle of the series or even worse part of one episode will not give a fair overview of what this series is about or how well written it really is. Admittedly it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but its certainly different and refreshing from the majority of drivel that we have had on TV for a good while. |
