Lowepro Microfiber cloths?
Quite a dumb question, but you know those cloths that come attached to most Lowepro bags, that say they are for protecting and cleaning the LCD, can I use that to clean my front element, or at least, de-dust it?

Re: Lowepro Microfiber cloths?
Yep - done this a few times in the field myself, though it naturally won't be as good as a dedicated clean pre or post shoot.
The great thing about the cloths being attached to the bags is that you can't drop them or forget where you put them

Re: Lowepro Microfiber cloths?
I found that the cloth on my Lowepro bag put more dust on the lens that it removed
Instead I use a Giottos Rocket Blower, which gets rid of most of the dust (its also good because you dont have to touch the lens/filter) and I've just bought a LensPen which has done a good job at cleaning up my filters and lenses

Re: Lowepro Microfiber cloths?
When I worked in the optical industry, we used 'Selvyt' 'cloths' for polishing glass. They are a kind of microfibre/velvet and can be washed.
A drop of alcohol could be used to remove stubborn bits. |
