I have just found this site and it gives you a fair whack of info and tips and techniques i have bookmarked it myself just thought i would share with all you people trying to get into macro like me...

That's a good article Aidey. When I had my Canon S3(now confiscated by my wife) with articulating lcd, I also used Lensmate adapter tubes and diopters. Live view and an articulating lcd make macro insects much easier. Both are spreading into the dslr world. Best thing you can do is take pictures and use each outing as an opportunity to build on.
