Macro tecniques in film SLR vs Digital ?

Just received a wonderful book through Amazon called " John Shaw's Close-ups in Nature"- about Macro photography tecniques- but it was written in 1987 so all discussions are around film . Im intending to read it all over my 10 days off work. Can anyone explain the basic differences in camera settings, etc.- ie will I need to "translate" film speed to ISO settings ? Im sure the principles are the same but Im not used to SLR film photography.

ISO is ISO whether its film or digital.

Is there a specific example you can quote that you have difficulty with?

Hi I just got the book today so barely read any of it-I just noticed it was written pre-digital and wanted to get my head around any possible differences in ISO settings before I read it in depth-thanks- Ill post more once Ive had a chance to do some in-depth reading

Read and enjoy. I have a shelf full of film camera books. My favourite is by Heather Angel and she now uses a D3. All the basics still apply it is just so much faster in digital.
