Making photos smaller??

Another stupid question...

What is the best way of making large photos smaller so I can post them on Pixalo?? Mine are currently about 5mb and I understandthat they should be no larger than 200kb.

Thanks again

Matt

Re: Making photos smaller??

When you convert them to jpeg, make them about 800 pixels on the long end, and save at about a 7 or 8 quality setting.

Not sure what software you are using but there should be a File, Save As facility, just drop the quality until you see the required file size at the bottom og the dialogue box. Alternatively, if you are using Adobe then you can go to File, Save for Web. Click the arrow to the right of Preset and you can Optimise to File Size. I presume other software has a similar facility.
