Memory Card Layout Info Needed

Hi peeps. I need some help gathering info from as many digital cams as possible (dSLR, bridge and compacts) - if it can be plugged into windows and viewed as a removable storage device i need the info on it.

The info in particular I need is about how the camera lays out the images you take on the memory card.

I need to know: -
  • Camera Manufacturer
  • Camera Model
  • List of folders (or single folder) on the memory card where images are written to.
  • List of file types the camera can write.

It should be formatted as: -
[<Manufacturer> <Make>]
Folder<x>=<Path to files> Repeat as neccesary incrementing <x> each time - Don't include the drive letter.
Type<x>=<File Extension> Repeat as neccesary incrementing <x> each time

Here's the Nikon D50 as an example.

Code:
[Nikon D50]
Folder1=DCIM\100NCD50
FileType1=jpg
FileType2=nef
I would like as many makes and models as possible. Even different models that produce the exact same layout. E.G. Nikon D70 and Nikon D70s

Thanks muchly.

There's nothing to find on the card as such. The file types are just the extension of the files your camera writes too.
For example, my D50 writes NEF files (nikon raw format) and JPG files.
fionaB's writes RAF (I guess that's a Fuji raw format) and JPG files.

Each make/model is different, hence I'm asking here.

Re: Memory Card Layout Info Needed

ya,. why not just let the app descend into the cards file system and pull out jpegs / other formats,. you may then not need to know the strange file system layouts,.. depends I guess

Re: Memory Card Layout Info Needed

If I do that it'll pull everything. I only want it to pull images - and then only from the folder maintained by the camera.
