Re: Nikon or Fuji?

To be honest pretty much any camera will be able to fulfil your requirements. However, they differ in their control and menu layouts so best is to get your hands on them as you will find some will be better for you than others.

What sort of camera are you looking for? A compact, mirrorless, bridge camera or a dSLR?

Re: Nikon or Fuji?

I'm going to see a talk by Colin Prior next week one of the UK best landscape photographer (google him) Whilst Xmas shopping with my wife yesterday I saw a Calendar for 2015 using his images interestingly on the back it showed the location camera used etc and all were took with a Fuji camera. I've always used Nikon never had any problems.

Re: Nikon or Fuji?

I can highly recommend the Fuji HS20 or better - shoots in RAW (if you want) or jpeg if you don't - good auto settings and plenty of manual options as well - does HD video as well

good range from wide angle to 30x optical zoom but at full wide angel I always have to correct for lens distortion

I also use Pentax K3 but still really enjoy my Fuji

Weight is sometimes an advantage, particularly where support is hard to find; heavier cameras can be hand held to slower shutter speeds. With an IS lens on my Canon 5D, fitted with the battery pack, I once managed a 1 second exposure, hand held! Never managed it again, though.

On the other hand, I also have a Micro Four Thirds outfit, on account of my suspicion that, doing my back in, might dampen my enthusiasm!

Re: Nikon or Fuji?

As per my recommendation, I would highly suggest you to go for fuji. It captured pictures with great colors. Also works better with HD pictures.
