I got this DVD as a present, I just finished watching it and I was good overall, it does give some very good tips, they go on about 5 on-location shoots and show you how it's done.
The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it seemed more of a commercial for the D300 and all the Nikon Strobes specially the SB-900.
But there is a shoot where he uses about 12 Strobes WOW who in the heck is going to buy 12 strobes. it was a very good shoot though.

I don't know about 12, but I could probably use up to five or six if I put my mind to it to achieve a specific look - especially for side lit and rim lit portraits where I also need to throw some light on the background (or elements of it)

That said, I currently only own three SB-800's and use reflectors if needed. I'll probably add in some SB-900's over the next year - at least two of them, along with some of Dave Honl's excellent light modifiers. I have a feeling I'm going to end up with a lighting bag to go along with my camera bag!

even 5 it's probably OK, I have Two SB-800 and one SB-600 and still trying to learn, but I guess I had higher expectations, when I got the DVD, I was expecting a little more that what they "taught", they do teach some one strobe tricks that are pretty cool, but for a Joe McNally video, as we know he is one of the best, I expected a little more.

The last shot when he set up 12 strobes I just said heck that's way to many.
The shot did come out great but too much money.

an SU-800
we are talking over $5,000 US DLLS just in that
I imagine he got all that free since it is a Nikon Video, but I dont work for nikon

I got the DVD for free it was a present, but I really don't think it's worth the 45 dollars it's selling for.

To be honest, I've seen your images like the the Tapout Guys, Mask and Skyscrape, (your missing the third one, Punkass) and those Images are better than the ones in the DVD I really like those and you only used 2 strobes and reflectors.

if you ever get tired of the DVD, I would be happy to buy it from you.

You can't purchase it here in Germany at the moment and Joe McNally really inspires me in many ways. I love his recent book and it gave me some great ideas on my last photoshootings, even without owning or having a flash yet.

I actually went to one of their seminars recently... Yes, it was a big commercial for the Nikon lighting system and editing software, but I learned a little bit, and got to shoot some models with expensive loaner equipment that I couldn't normally afford.

The only issue was not enough models, but the organizers acknowledged this and promised teh next such event would be better planned.

that's amazing turn day into night with 12 strobes, expensive but amazing.
