Re: noise software
No graphical interface.
You type the command to a DOS or Unix shell depending on your operating system and feed it parameters. There may be some people using the code in their projects now and provide such a GUI.. |

Re: noise software
![]() Fi: Try the neatimage demo, but NOT the photoshop plug in, the standalone one, cos this one doesn't restrict image size. Great little thing, can only save in jpeg but that's not a big problem... Neat Image :: download |

Re: noise software
The ones I have tried and found to be good are..
Neat image Noise Ninja and my current favourite Noiseware professional. Unfortunately none of them are free but all of them are available as free time limited trials so that you can give them a whirl to see if they are worth the cost for you. Noiseware Professional is available as a plugin to PS (which is how I use it) and therefore can run on any format supported by PS. No file size limits and it will even run on selections or layers. |

Re: noise software
Hi Steve,
Can you tell us some more about how Noiseware compares to the other programs (esp. to Noise Ninja)? I have downloaded the trial versions of both and feel that Noiseware may be a little better at retaining details, but I am no expert. Are these hardware profiles you can download for Noise Ninja any good? Tanks in advance! Peter Quote:

Re: noise software
Sorry Peter I can't comment on the hardware profiles for Noise Ninja as I no longer have it installed. After finding Noiseware Professional and working with that a while I am totally happy. As a rule I don't require any noise reduction software in my general photography and for the infrequent times that I do, the results I get with NP where more than good enough to stop me playing around with any other software packages beyond my previous experience.
Have you downloaded the profiles to give them a try? |

Re: noise software
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have downloaded the profiles for the D200, but I fail to see any difference between analyzing the individual picture and applying the profile. I am glad to hear that you are so happy with Noiseware. I installed it yesterday (in its plugin form) and I like the way it presents itself. The sliders make sense to me and when I move them I see just the expected changes. I think I will print a few test pictures using both programs to compare, but I already have a feeling I will end up paying for Noiseware and uninstalling Noise Ninja. Cheers, Peter |
