Question Original v's Non Original???

I have recently purchased 2x Elinchrom 250w Monoblock Flash units and I need some advice not only on the softbox I need to purchase as this item is not included, however; I would also like your opinion in regard purchasing dedicated equipment made by the original manufacturer (Elinchrom) compared to 'copy / simular' equipment made by another company...

I have investigated purchasing an original Elinchrom Softbox however they are a little pricy when you compare the cost for something simular made by another company. Any ideas about the name of a suplier that can provide a good quality 'copy' softbox for my Elenchrom flash units?

Or, any thoughts in relation to this post?

Cheers
Dean .

Re: Original v's Non Original???

I got two Elinchrom Rotolux 100cm square softboxes for under half price from a company who were selling off some ex hire gear. They are a doddle to put up and down with their quick release rods and also have an inner diffusing screen (to reduce hotspots) as well as the outer one and they have a rotating mount too. The light quality is superb. You can also fit deflectors to give a beauty dish effect.

Can't really comment on the compatible equipment, but there is a ton of it on e-bay if you search Elinchrom.
