orton technique
Thought would try orton technique...so followed fiona's link followed the step by step...no luck
so went off in search for further info , got to another photography forum ,which were saying it was for p1 and the adobe ps cs3 didnt work with that particular steps. So that was ok ...bit more searching , no luck followed few more links had few choice words to computer for not understanding what i wanted So i figured i would compromise ,attempted to take the info i had and adjust it for ps c3 ...sounds simple enough Ended up getting side tracked and playing with layers and blending and merging then flattening image ...have my own version in critique section. Hoping someone can do a step by step on how to do the orton technique in ps that i can work in adobe ps cs3. really would be appreciated

Re: orton technique
Heres something that might help you, I didn't narrate the steps , I tought they were pretty ovious,
1.- Duplicate Image, Close original image 2.- lighten image: Image>Apply Image in the dialog box change the blending mode to Screen and the opacity to 100%, this will create an overexposed image. 3.- Duplicate overexpossed image. 4.- Blur the copy overexposed: Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur play with the radius usually it will be between 20 and 50. when done set the blending mode to multiply. 5.- Flatten image HAVE FUN WITH IT!! Re: orton technique
just had a squiz , it must be me as on adobe ps cs3 following the steps ,iam unable to do them all.Am trying to just convert it all into the whole overall pricnciple. The other thing ,the you tube site looks full of great tips and techniques unfortunately the images are extremely distorted ,have trouble seeing where the pointing is going and unable to read where the pointer is ...As first time i have ever seen the you tube site .Is there anything i can do to improve image so i can read it and see it clearer?
Its frustrating as looks like it is set out with easy to follow steps. Thanks again for you help . Cheers Sue ![]() |
