Packaging for print sales

Just interested to find out what packaging other use for their print sales.

I've been using a variety of packaging depending on print size and haven't yet managed to settle on the best combination. For the smaller print sizes I've mainly used some sort of protective clear polythene bag and/or wallet (a sort of plastic 'zip-seal' wallet from stationary shops) for the actual prints. These are then packaged in a stiffened envelope with compliment slip and business card. For large print sizes I've used tubes.

Just wondering what others use and any recommendations for good suppliers of print packaging supplies!

Re: Packaging for print sales

Are you printing your own?

If you are having the prints printed professionally I would have the printer send the prints direct to your customer and the bills to you. It will save on P&P costs and the onus on delivering the prints safely is shifted on to the printer

Re: Packaging for print sales

Thanks Steve. Good point as currently I do use a couple of professional printing services (until I get that A3 printer I covet!). If sent directly from the printers though I'd miss out on the inclusion of business card/compliment slip with the prints, but definitely worth looking into.

Re: Packaging for print sales

You can get envelopes re-enforced with cardboard in most sizes, but for bigger prints cardboard tubes take a lot of beating (literally).

Prices vary from about 45p - 3.99 depending on the size and where you buy them. A piece of tissue to protect the print from abrasions completes the job.
