Paint Shop Pro 11 Corel Implementations

Hi all
I am a beginner at implementing/using Paint Shop Pro Photo 11. I wonder if anyone can explain to me the following:

I work on an artwork. This art work represents an improvisation on Dante's Divine comedy. On the subject artwork, there is a creature. I managed to take this creature out but what I struggle for is that I can not replace the creature with the background colour. Instead of creature, now there is a black patch (shape of the creature). I want to fill that part with the adjacent background colour which has variable patterns. It should look like there was not that creature, instead there should be original background and it should look natural.

I hope I could explain clearly. Can anyone help me on this?

Try Removing Photo Background in Paint Shop Pro Tutorials which looks as it'll help

Re: Paint Shop Pro 11 Corel Implementations

Without checking out the link provided by Mark, and without knowing how complex the shape is, one way would be to select the area, sample the colour you want to fill with and then use the paint bucket tool to fill the area. Edge imperfections can be tidied up with the paint brush or clone tool.

I tried Paint Shop Pro X years ago, but although it is a good program, and at the time was in my view 'better/more powerful' than Photoshop Elements, I found Photoshop to be more intuitive and generally had a better user interface. This is not helped by the comparatively few tutorials for the Corel product.

If you stick with it you will gradually get to grips with it and then you'll be able to tell us how to use it!
