Panasonic Lumix RW2 raw image format
So I took a buncha photos with my FZ28 camera in RAW format. I got home and didn't have any programs that could read RW2 extentions so I do a web search for the correct program and was directed to the panasonic website for support / drivers, etc and there it had the windows photo gallery plugin installer. That's where the problem begins. It only works for windows Vista. I have windows xp on my photo studio (pc that I use for photo editing...nifty eh?). I messed around and got Irfanview to open them eventually but can't really do much else other than save as a jpg. I'd like to do some editing on the images before any conversion. Editing like say in Adobe Photoshop or some other editing programs. Anyone know if there is a plugin for photoshop or any other popular image editing programs that enable RW2 viewing on Windows XP?

Re: Panasonic Lumix RW2 raw image format
It might be worth checking out the Faststone Image viewer - a free download - to see if that will open these files. It has quite a lot of useful functions too, but no complex editing functions.

Believe you need CS4 if you use Photoshop

Re: Panasonic Lumix RW2 raw image format
It looks to me as if Adobe are only just catching up with this. Version 5.2 of the Raw converter includes your camera issued 19/2/2009 but it looks as of v 5.2 of the DNG converter is not out yet but it should be any time. Once that is released you can download and convert your Raw files o DNG which can then be processed by Photoshop from CS onwards or Elements from V5 onwards.

Re: Panasonic Lumix RW2 raw image format
You can use UFRaw either on its own or as a GIMP plugin. The DMC-FZ28 is supported.
