Question Panoramic Printer

Hi

Was trying to find some places that would do panoramic prints. So far I've only found 1 (PhotoBox) which does 2 sizes 12x5" and 20x8".

Anybody know of any other places that offer this type of printing ? Would like to compare prices and size options.

Re: Panoramic Printer

If you're capable in photoshop or any editing program, you can take an alternative approach to that. I use Costco (I think they use SnapFish). They offer 20x30 prints. You can get two 10x30 pans or three 10x20 pans from a single 20x30 print. You'll just have to cut them after the fact. Same goes for larger prints. You can get some pretty massive poster prints done. You just have to do the layout beforehand.

Re: Panoramic Printer

I have used this company. I found the print quality excellent. Delivery a little slow but then discovered that they are in Munich despite the .co.uk address. They will print almost any size you want as far as I can tell. posterXXL - Poster printing, big and affordable. Order easily and conveniently online!

Thanks for the tips guys.

I'll look into them. Like the idea of 3 in one.

Re: Panoramic Printer

Before I got my Epson R1800 I sent a couple of prints to Spectrum Photo in Brighton.

I brought one 40 X 30 'Edition Digital C' print and they put the two images on it.

Not cheap but excellent quality. Mind you you can get a 12" high print on an A3+ printer with roll paper, which is what I now do at home.

Re: Panoramic Printer

Interesting thread this Chrisa. I have just printed some shots I took at Westernbirt Aboretum of the Autumn colours and A4 prints ,which is the maximum size I can do using my HP 8250 printer didn't seem to do them justice.
So I used my desk top publishing suite Printmaster 11 to enlarge them using the Banner item. Using this you can enlarge as much as you like . I chose 2 times A4.
The Printmaster software overlaps the edges by about 5 mm. and the printer prints two A4 sheets. By placing and aligning carefully you cut the two sheets on top of one another. When butt jointed and mounted behind glass it quite difficult to see the "join"
Obviously the photo needs to be busy, its not so good on portraits!! but its worth experimenting I think.

Regards Brian

Re: Panoramic Printer

I did something a bit similar. I took one of my panos, created 3 images @ 30x20 each and printed them at Photobox.

Like Brian, I was going to join them but the issues of finding a frame the right size and my complete lack of "craft" skills meant I decided to frame them individually.

Re: Panoramic Printer

Some more good options here. Like the effect you got of splitting the images orangepeel.

Brian, Unfortunately I don't have PrintMaster to try joining myself, my printer only does A4 as well and the printout of pano's on this size really is as you say not doing them justice.

Re: Panoramic Printer

Hi Chrisa.
Did you sort out your printing? Just ordered a panoramic from posterxxl. Prepared to wait for delivery from Munich because every UK based lab I tried insisted on trying to crop my prints to fit the paper whereas posterxxl will cut the paper to fit the print. Have a local printer who would do it but his prices are ott. compared with online ordering.
