What do you think about Photographers Direct stock agency? Looks like a pretty fair deal to me, but then what do I know

It's OK but you'll be lucky to sell anything through them. I've been on their list for a couple of years and only once have they asked for subject matter that I could provide. And then they chose someone else's.

No harm in trying though.

Same here, mind you I dont have a huge stock list, mostly animal stuff, ive actually forgotten about it now, all the keywording etc drives me mad.

I have been on there for 3 years now, have sold two through them, both are submitted to there email system. Does not cost anything to upload so why not.

We're looking for quality images taken on a Canon D-SLR to be used in the tutorial section of PhotoPlus magazine. Pictures MUST be taken on Canon digital SLR and you must be able to supply an un-processed RAW file.

A low-res version of the image will be included on the cover mounted disc that accompanies the magazine to be used as a source file. Our readers are encouraged to follow the tutorials and video lessons using these images.

Images will be altered using Photoshop or ACR, however the emphasis is on making a good picture better rather than salvaging a bad one, so we require excellent compositions.

I'm with Steve on that one Graham, it's amazing how many people don't take 30 seconds to read simple instructions like that. I have met several members of camera clubs (so presumably have a fair interest in pictires) who have asked me when giving tutorials and things, 'Wait a sec, which way is landscape again?...'

I guess like most things, when you're very familiar with something it is easy to forget that newcomers are not as au fe with things. I have learnt this from experience and so try to use minimal technical language during my talks at clubs and when I do use camera jargon, I always explain the words, no matter how simple they are.

After all, there might be some Nikon users around....
