Question Photography courses

I want to do a photography course. But I was wondering if anybody has experience with the online courses. Here is one link.

Or can you advice me of a good one. Not to sure if going to college would be better. I could do with some advice.

Re: Photography courses

If you want to do a basic course, the City & Guilds level one is good. I did find that some of it was going over old ground for me, but then that's never a bad thing to revisit what you think you know.
I enjoyed the college course as it was nice to meet other photographers and exchange experiences every week and bounce ideas. Our tutor also bought in a pro magazine photographer which was really interesting.

Re: Photography courses

The OU one hasnt had very good feedback, on the whole OU are fantastic, but a friend wanted to do a short course, I looked into this one for him and some paast students were comenting that it wasnt that great. For starters the course tutors arent even photographers.

Re: Photography courses

I realised how much I had learned just from visiting here when I looked at some (very disappointing) wedding photos. Not so long ago, I might not have known why they weren't so good but now I can tell the white balance is crap, composition poor etc etc..now I just have to make sure I can be as critical of my own pics!

Re: Photography courses

Well it looks good, but the fees are a bit to expensive for me I'm afraid.

And I'm pretty sure the college nearby does photography courses. So i will have a look as soon as the study guide comes in.
