I agree that I didn't particularly like all of her shots, but a couple did stand out, the photo of her on the bed crying and the loo shot, she completed the brief which was to take a series of shots that were showing something of yourself, which she did. I can see why they gave it to her rather than the other girl as she didn't put anything of herself into the photo's, they were well produced but perhaps a bit soul less and staged, they said nothing about her as a person or a photographer.
I don't pretend to get half the stuff I go to see in galleries, but from looking I could tell who would win and why. Even though personally neither was to my taste. |

To be brutally honest, and probably completely unfair and wrong, how can someone who clearly has next to no understanding of the technical aspects of photography have a gallery exhibition and a book deal?
I really did prefer the other photographer's work, (Lucinda), and I think that soon the judges will see that their fear about Liz being a 'one trick pony', because she felt so strongly about her alcoholism, will be realised. |

I think it was more the thought process that went into them that won it for her, your never going to get top quality shots inside with pop up flash

The program interested me but I was disappointed with most of the results although I thought that the loo and the crying pictures were both very good.
I would like to see a follow up program with experienced professionals taking the shots. |
