How do i insert one of my images from my hard drive into a thread/post. on the insert image it asks for a url, can i only upload from webspace/site..sorry if this is a stupid question

Upload the shot into your gallery here and then link it into the forums using the [img] tags.

There is a more detailed guide somewhere around here, give me a minute and I will find it for you

To get the picture to show in a post rather than linking to it…once in the gallery, if you view the full picture (not the thumb) under it you will see the url. Copy that url (control + C on your keyboard) and then go to the thread on this site were you want to post on and when you come to post your pic first hit the button just above your reply box which says Img, this will print the tag [img] Make sure there are no spaces then press 'Control' and 'V' on your keyboard which will paste the address of the pic right after the [img] tag.

Now press Img again which gives you this tag [/img] Note the difference with the second tag - the front slash.

Your finished address should be [img]Url address[/img] with no spaces in between.

When you submit your post your picture will appear in it.

I do this slightly different for the post. I just click the icon of a postcard with mountain on it, paste in the url in the pop up box & click OK. Same result.

Each to their own, I do it all manually but as long as it shows the picture it doesn't matter
