pictures for a web based shop

My sister has asked me to take some shots of some products that she wants to put on her online store. They are sweets and goods in a basket. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how to go about making things easy for me? I don't have any good lights or anything fancy. Just the onboard flash and a diffuser for it. I'm guessing I'll need to make sure the lighting is good enough not to need the flash unit?

I would not use the pop-up flash personally. You could try light from a window and a reflector, but might be easier to use a light tent with a couple of table lamps. You could lash up a tent with some diffusing material too. Depending on the lights used you might have to play with the white balance settings.

I'd go for the light tent, as per

At work we use two light tents and some very basic lighting.

Re: pictures for a web based shop

Thanks for the tips. I've never used a light tent before but it's obviously exactly what I need. I've arranged to take the pictures tonight so I'll see what I have around the house to make one up.

Fiona, thanks for the offer but I've cycled in today and couldn't carry a light tent back. I'll have a go at making a tent and post up what I come up with.
