No way - too much could go wrong with a purchase like that. I would rather pay the extra from a High street outlet. At least you can go back and have a ruck with them over the counter if you have to.

Short answer - NO!

Although if Ian Kerr has any I might go through him. He trades on ebay as kerso & does some pretty good deals.

That is one of those insidious postings that hopefully Ebay will remove as soon as they see it (I have reported it!). It isn't selling the camera at all, it is simply saying 'I know where you can get it cheap and if you pay me a few dollars I'll tell you! You then go to the shop and pay your $1299. Given that this price is the rrp for America, I would be surprised if you couldn't actually find it a touch cheaper elsewhere once it is actually available anyway!

I would be tempted to pop over to the USA to buy one once they are available given the price difference as we are, as always, expected to pay MUCH more than the Americans. Why Canon always do this I have no idea but our price is £900 which is roughly $1800 dollars, a full $500 more than in the USA!

I should point out I mean going over for a long weekend with the better half and buying one whilst there, not just going for the camera! That really would be silly!

But I will almost certainly end up getting it from either Warehouse, Park, 7Dayshop or Onestop. I'll see how they all compare with one another once they are actually on the shelves. Any fool can advertise a camera at any price they want while it is still awaiting shipment. They then bump up the price when it is actually available!

Must say though, I am very excited for this one and can't wait for it to be ready for sale :o)

If you buy from 7dayshop or OneStop, do you get a European warranty?

That always used to be the problem with Canon cameras (not lenses) - the warranty applied only to the territory in which it was bought. When 7dayshop stocked Canon equipment before, I think they bought from the USA, although that may have changed this time.

Judging from the prices I'd say 7DS is stocking UK goods now. You'd best email them to confirm that though.
