I read somewhere, a long time ago, that you can do it with Excel !!!

Drop the picture into cell A1, suitably sized I guess, then print, and Excel manages the pages for you. Can't say I 've tried it myself!

Re: printing large with epson r300

Some softwear has templates that allow to you construct large pictures from A4 (or any other size) paper.

I've use the software that came with my scanner to do this - HP director/view and print/creative printing. This allows 2 x 2, 3 x 3 and 4 x 4 posters. I've not even looked in my editing software for this feature, it may well be available in these packages.

However, be warned that these are very difficult to put together. I print with borders as if the print has gone off the edges, as they do with borderless printing, you may find that the prints will not match up due to slight inconsisatncies in the printing. My rotary trimmer is not really accurate enough to get the trimmed edges 100% square, and when you do this, you need it to be 100% square, belive me! finally, if you are going to use spray mount, you only get one chance to get it right!

I've done two. The second was better than the first, and if viewed from a distance they don't look bad.

By the way, the two posters I've attempted were 4 x 4.

Re: printing large with epson r300

I use a printing program called Photo Elf,unfortunately it's not free,it can slice and dice to produce posters and panoramas, as well as a multitude of other printing jobs, think it was about £15 downloaded.

Re: printing large with epson r300

Although it would take a little bit of messing around I would have thought that this would be very possible using either Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, just alter the size to your final output then crop the photo into four and print, if you don't use borderless printing then you will have totally square edges that you can trim and then you will just have to fix them to a mounting board or whatever your final chosen display surface.

I don't know if you are aware but you can now get spray adhesive specifically for photos which allows you to peel them off the surface without leaving any marks...its strong enough to hold them in place but also flexible enough to allow for correction if you get it slightly wrong. The one I have seen over here in germany was made by Scotch IIRC.

Hope that helps?

Re: printing large with epson r300

Thanks Steve. I used 3M Photo-Mount. I did not try to move the photos after mounting, but they did not feel very pliable.

On the can it said 'instant and permanent bond', and 'Scotch-Weld'.

If I try it again, I'll look out for the one you mentioned.

Re: printing large with epson r300

Which printer driver are you using?? I ask, because my Epson driver (R1800)does that for me. I've never used it but I go into the page set up and select poster, it let's me select how many sheets. Image ready will slice it up but it's just as easy to constrain the crop tool.
