Printing problem

I'm having a small problem when printing out mono photos', I've been using Robs tutorial here,http://www.pixalo.com/articles/conve...g-lab-mode.php but the finished printed pic seems to have a blueish tinge to it and look a bit flat as a result, does anybody have any ideas? unfortunately I don't have a workiing scanner atm so I can't really show what the results are like.

Re: Printing problem

This can be a can of worms Steve, and there are some threads around on this very subject.

Here is one

here another. I can't find the others.

Here are some random things to look at -

Is your monitor calibrated? It might be showing mono, but there may be a cast you can't see.
Have you got the printer driver set to 'manual' or 'software control of the printer'?
What printer are you using? If it has only two ink tanks you might find it will not print good monos.
Have you got your camera, monitor and printer set to the same colour space?
Have you tried setting the printer driver to mono?

You will see in one of these threads that Rob does not think that you can ever get !00% perfect mono prints at home.
