Printing Service

I have a few family photos that I would like to have professionally printed and then put in display in my house.

Can anyone recommend a good quality service to use?

I have used some of the cheapo ones before but I can print better on my Canon printer and I would be happy to pay a little extra for quality.

For instance I converted some photos to B&W and sent them off and they came back dreadful.

I found a place called 'Digitalab' that seems to have a more professional approach.

Anyone use them before?

Advice welcomed!

Re: Printing Service

Loxley have have good reports, so do Peak Imaging. I've heard recommendations for ProAm too. I met the guy who runs Print Yours last year and he made all of the right noises.

I've used Photobox and had no cause for complaint, but they only get average ratings in the reviews.

Others have spoken well of DSColourlabs and The Print Space.

Re: Printing Service

Have you used Photobox for larger prints, A4 upwards?

I'd have to check but I think it was Photobox who made a crap effort on my B&W shots but maybe I converted them poorly.

I have some Photobox prints that were taken with my D70s at A2 size.

Re: Printing Service

I've also had decent monos from them and if my order goes in before 3pm I get the prints in my hand the next day - or have done so far.

It is worth checking the site regularly as they often do BOGOFs with poster size prints.

Re: Printing Service

+1 for Loxley, but maybe I'm biased as they are short walk away. They do the personal touch really well too.

I've not had too much trouble with Photobox either, as long as you use the calibration print to tune your monitor they are a very good budget option.

Re: Printing Service

I've registered with Loxley and Photobox.

I don't think I've used either before. Definitely not Loxley and the Photobox site doesn't look familiar.
